Structure of casing head equipment
The casing head is generally made of 35 or 42 chromium molybdenum alloy structural steel. A casing hanger is also installed inside the casing head to suspend casing columns of corresponding specifications and seal the annular space gap. An anti spray device group should be installed on it. After the completion of the oil well, a Christmas tree is installed on the casing head.
Basic functions of casing head
When drilling on land or at sea, a special short joint is installed to support and secure the casing string that is lowered into the well, and to install a blowout preventer group and other wellhead devices. It is connected to the top of the casing string with threads or flanges and sits on the outer casing.
Production process of casing head
The production of casing heads generally involves the following process:
1. Casting blank, casting materials into rough blanks of workpieces.
2. Rough cutting refers to the initial cutting process of the workpiece blank.
3. Precision machining, machining the rough cut workpiece with a lathe to the designed precision.
4. Boring diameter, use a boring machine to bore the designed inner diameter.
5. Drill holes, use a drilling machine to drill out the outer connecting bolt space.
6. Heat treatment, subjecting the workpiece to quenching and tempering heat treatment.
7. Inspection and testing will be conducted on the casing heads that have completed the machining process, including geometric dimensions, hardness, roughness, and internal and external defects, as well as non-destructive testing.
